WCS max Size

Hello:

I've a service which shows a coverage over the WMV. However, files over 2 MB are not loaded properly in the Mapviewer (the viewer is not loaded and a network error appears) so I'd like to know which is the maximun file size a viewer can show.

Thanks in advance

María José

Re: WCS max Size

Hello:

I think the first option is the best for us. We'll try to change the image resolution to get a faster download.

Thanks for your help.

María José

Re: WCS max Size

Apart from the maximum file size parameter, there is indeed also a time-out setting on HTTP/FTP downloads.

We could increase the timeout period to allow your downloads but I do not think that a user would want to wait for more than 5 minutes to see the results. So there are only two solutions, reduce the file size of the image by for instance resampling to lower resolution or better start using WCS or WMS that allow subsetting at the server side so that only the data required for the display at each scale are transfered.

Best regards,

Hello Steven:

I’m using coverages files provided on FTP sites. You can use these two URLs for testing it. I think the most probably cause is the network connection. (very slow for downloading 4 MB).

Re: Re: WCS max Size

That can be the reason in fact. I downloaded those two files from the main SSE server, and it takes about 5 minutes for each one. The max size limit for a coverage, on the WebMapViewer side, is well above 2Mb so that should not be a problem.
