Feature search over an AOI

Hi all,
We have registered a WFS service to the WMV and added a layer with a custom style sheet to search for features belonging to a given time range, the server however replies with features over the entire world; is there a way we can use the bounding box of the AOI drawn in the WMV to further filter the WFS request to provide features only over that AOI?

Regards,
Alan

Hello Alan,

This functionality is currently not foreseen to be implemented.

Best regards,

Re: Feature search over an AOI

Hi Steven,
Is it planned to use also the user defined AOI for WFS queries in future WMV releases?

In that way an user can search for WFS results over an AOI (defined via the AOI tool), then place an order over the same AOI to obtain them if none is present. Moreover, if the users forget to zoom the map they won't accidentally make a resource demanding (over all world) query to the WFS server but get a "please select AOI" message.

Regards,
Alan

Re: Feature search over an AOI

Alan,

In the second step of the WFS Stylesheet wizard there is a check box "use Bounding Box".

If this is checked, and you afterwards use the resulting stylesheets, the query will take into account the map extent and pass this as BBOX criteria to the WFS.

Hope this solves your needs.

Best regards,

Steven

Re: Re: Feature search over an AOI

Hi Steven,
Yes, that worked but we had to replace the BBox operator with an intersects to obtain accurate results; maybe this can be added as an alternate option directly in the wizard.

Thank you,
Best regards,

Alan
