Problem with WMV when polygon crosses dayline

Hello!

The WebMapViewer forum is seems to be in read only state, so I write here. Some time ago I had the similar problem. It seems there were some recent changes/upgrades related to the portal and WMV. By now I can't force WMV to display search result correctly. Both "No correction" and "EO Products Footprint" at page 10 of WMV configurator give similar results.

Kind regards,
Ilya

Re: Problem with WMV when polygon crosses dayline

Hi ilya,

I will summarize below our mail conversation such taht other user can have a full overview of the issue.

First of all: In order to use the "No correction" and "EO Products Footprint" features the option "Use WebMapViewer with custom configuration. " has to be selected in the service registration -second step-.

After this the WMV will display footprints like in attachemnt which may look strange but they belongs to acquisition over the pole.

In a plate carree projection of the world, the North pole is not represented as a point but as a line at +90° extending from -180 to + 180 .
Hence the strange effect that you may see.

Remember also that the WMV support serverl type of projection which can be added by in the configuration tab 11 .

Ciao
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

I apologize since I just have found that our network segment currently down due to some failure, so the screenshots I provided on the FTP and the service itself are not accessible. I hope you don't need them to investigate the issue.

Kind regards,
Ilya

Re: Re: Re: Re: Problem with WMV when polygon crosses dayline

Hi Alessandro,

the network is up again and the screenshots are available from the same address and the service (another one, but also affected by the issue) is accessible.

Also I have noticed that some of default layers visible in VMW are just disappered. I see only GTOP30 and BARHYMETRY WMSs there (probably this is somehow related to the investigation you perform)

Kind regards,
Ilya
