Activity Objectives and Challenges


The objective of IGN's involvement is to develop conformance tests for the two HMA Catalog Protocols : OGC 06-131 - EO Extension Package and OGC 07-038 - CIM Extension Package.
Our activities are organized as follows:

WP0 – Management
This work package concerns the technical management of IGN's work.

It will include the following activities:
- General management of IGN’s technical work described in this proposal.
- Inputs to the Project Management Plan to be prepared by SPACEBEL;
- Inputs to the Installation Plan concerning IGN’s deliverable items;
- Monthly progress reports to SPACEBEL, inputs to the progress meetings’ agendas and any required documentation on IGN’s work to support decisions during the progress meetings;
- Management of the collaborations between IGN and software developers of implementations of OGC 06-131 and 07-038 concerning the use of the executable test scripts. E-mail exchanges and teleconferences will be organized if necessary. IGN will also report to SPACEBEL and ESA on the issues encountered.

WP1 - Improve the test policies and procedures
This work package will consist in defining or improving ESA’s test policies and procedures based on OGC document 03-085r2 Compliance Testing Program and any ESA documentation describing the procedures for using the ESA implementation of the TEAM engine. This WP covers Objective I15.1 of HMA-T Phase 2 Statement of Work.

It will include:
- The definition of the required steps to develop and validate compliance tests for HMA specifications;
- The general rules to determine compliance to an HMA specification when applying the test scripts;
- The format of compliance results’ documentation and of compliance certificates;
- The way and necessary steps to settle disputes over the results of compliance test.

WP 2 - Develop CITE conformance test scripts for HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 06-131

This work package aims at:
- Improving the Abstract Test Suite (ATS) of the HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 06-131;
- Developing on the basis of this ATS an Executable Test Suite (ETS) compatible with the ESA Testing Platform based on the OGC TEAM Engine;
- Deploying the executable test suite on the ESA Testing Platform and validating it against the reference implementation of HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 06-131;
- Providing a support to ESA, Spacebel and the points of contact of the candidate implementations of HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 06-131 concerning this ATS and this ETS.

WP 3 - Develop CITE conformance test scripts for HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 07-038

This work package aims at:
- Developing the Abstract Test Suite (ATS) of the HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 07-038;
- Developing on the basis of this ATS an Executable Test Suite (ETS) compatible with the ESA Testing Platform based on the OGC TEAM Engine;
- Deploying the executable test suite on the ESA Testing Platform and validating it against the reference implementation of HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 07-038;
- Providing a support to ESA, Spacebel and the points of contact of the candidate implementations of HMA Catalog Protocol OGC 07-038 concerning this ATS and this ETS.

  • Template for Abstract Test Suite (ATS) documentation, Acceptance Test Plan for ATS and Executable Test Scripts (ETS) documentation
  • Updated Abstract Test Suite and Executable Test Scripts for OGC 06-131
